Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 4:23, NLT- “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.”
The Holy Spirit is capable of what I am not. What I cannot get my mind around the Holy Spirit can divide and conquer. It seems to me these verses in chapter 4 of Ephesians were a challenge for translators of the Word as well.
Reading through the various translations of Ephesians 4:23, I almost sense this verse has different meanings and directions. The King James Bible states we can be renewed in the spirit of your mind. The spirit of our minds? What in the world does that mean?
I chose this morning the New Living Translation which instructs me to let the Spirit renew my thoughts and attitudes. I need the Holy Spirit to order my understanding and to renew my thoughts and attitudes. To be made new in the truths of Jesus, I need the Holy Spirit to teach me to go beyond my old self and my deceitful desires and lusts.
Will you ask the Holy Spirit to renew your thoughts and attitudes?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Spirit. Teach me and renew me with Your Holy Spirit LORD. Please bring order to my thoughts and attitudes. Protect me LORD from my deceitful lusts. Renew me and teach me the way of Jesus in every area of my life. Teach me Holy Spirit to be more like Jesus by renewing my thoughts and attitudes. In Your Spirit I do pray. Amen.
