Today’s Scripture: Ezra 5:5, NLT- “But because their God was watching over them, the leaders of the Jews were not prevented from building until a report was sent to Darius and he returned his decision.”
Reading about the times of building the temple I realize how similar life is today. We can trust and sing praises and thanksgivings to God for being with us. We can shout with joy our praises to our God.
While we sing and shout there are those who will attempt to discourage and prevent us from doing our work for the LORD. Be encouraged in the LORD for He is good and His faithful love endures forever. Those in Ezra’s time lied to the king and brought frivolous lawsuits to prevent the building of the temple to the LORD.
There are still those today who stand against God and good. They play the political games with dishonesty. We must only continue to do what the LORD has stirred us to do. We can trust that God is watching and bringing people around us to help us complete His work.
Will you be confident in your work today knowing God is watching over you?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, hear my song of praise and thanksgiving. Hear my shouts and tears of joy. Thank You LORD for watching over us. Thank You LORD for allowing us to work for Your good and Your purposes. Please continue to move our hearts to help each other complete Your will. We have begun our works and we give according to your ability. Thank You LORD for being so good to us and for granting us Your faithful love that endures forever. Amen
