Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:9, NKJV- “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
As Paul wrote to the church in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 1:5, we have been enriched in every way to testify of Jesus. Yet, we must continue to pray to our God who is faithful, to remove the divisions that we ourselves have built among us, specifically in the church.
Let us praise God and ask Him to join us together in the same mind and in the same judgment as Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 1:10. (KJV) I am thankful our memories are weak as Paul mentioned that he could not remember if he had baptized any other followers. I am also thankful that God chooses not to remember our sins and shortcomings.
I am thankful to God that He has chosen to reveal His power and the power of the cross in our weaknesses. God is faithful to reveal Himself to us. Paul referenced Isaiah 29:14, Isaiah stated “Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvelous work Among this people, A marvelous work and a wonder; For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, And the understanding of their prudent men shall be hidden.”
God’s Word and His faithfulness are as very much alive today as they were in the days of Isaiah and Paul. I believe when we have experienced the marvels and wonders of God, we simply want to point others to our LORD. The wisdom and understanding of man do perish and mean nothing to us. We know we do not know yet we do know that the God of all marvels and wonders is faithful to us.
As Isaiah spoke in Isaiah 29:13, all we must do is keep our hearts close to God. Forget the rules and understanding of humankind. Pray that our hearts stay close to the One God who is faithful. God will not leave us nor forsake us. Our hearts experience the riches of God.
As 1 Corinthians 1:24 promises, “Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.” (NLT) We must always remember 1 Corinthians 1:29 “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;” (NKJV)
Let us be resolved to preach Christ crucified as Paul instructed us in 1 Corinthians 1:23. All we need to know is Christ was crucified for us and God continues to reveal marvelous wonders through our testimonies of Christ. We can live today in thanksgiving and confidence in the faithfulness of our God that has already overcome the world.Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for creating us so we must rely on Your faithfulness. We are weak, yet You sent Your Son Jesus Christ for us. All I know is that Christ was crucified for us. Thank You Father God for Your faithfulness and Your Word. Help us to keep our hearts and minds close to You LORD and turn away from the understanding of this foolish world. Thank You Jesus for being crucified for us. You are all we must know. Amen
