Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 25:4, NKJV- “Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.”

When we praise God and look to Him, we can pray, just as David did in Psalm 25:4. “Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.”  When we say we are praying for God’s guidance, do we? Do we even ask God to lead us and teach us what He desires and requires of us?

David gave us the clear words and path. David also taught us in the previous verse Psalm 25:3 that if our hopes are in the LORD, He will not lead us into shame. Even going back one more verse to Psalm 25:2, we are instructed firstly that we must trust God. If we first trust, then hope, and ask we will go on the path of God Himself.

Psalm 25:5 reminds us this is not just a hope we pour out to God in our prayers but a hope we have in God all day long, in everything. There are crossroads throughout our days. Twists and turns come upon us in a hurry. Yet, in each, and all day long, we can hope, trust, and turn to our LORD.

It is God’s goodness; we can trust and follow. God’s mercies and lovingkindness led His people along the ancient paths, and they will lead us along the right paths today. God does teach us when we humble ourselves and go to Him with the hope and trust to be taught.

As we look to God and are reminded of His Almighty power, we only need fear Him to know Him and His ways for us. Let us look to God before looking which way to go. All of us experience the loneliness and affliction that David was expressing in Psalm 25:16. It is in these moments that we are drawn to God. Let us not forget God nor these places nor how God has shown up for us and His people as we go about our day.

As long as we trust God and take our refuge in Him, He will stand guard over our souls and deliver us as David knew in Psalm 25:20. As we put our hope in the LORD, He will deliver us from all of our troubles as we are taught in Psalm 25:22.

In all troubles and in all twists and turns today let us look to our LORD and we can trust that our Father in Heaven is with us now. Will you ask God to show you your ways today?

Today’s Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father for being our LORD yesterday, today, and always. Remind us and teach us to take refuge and to turn to You all day long. I am turning all hope and trust towards You. Show me now Your ways and teach me Your paths. I am praising You Father God for Your goodness that guides us when we face any afflictions. Thank You LORD for standing guard over our souls and our paths today. Amen.
