Today’s Scripture: Mark 12:44, NIV- “They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”
We must be careful as to who we give our “all.” In Mark 12:42- 44, Jesus is teaching His disciples. “Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.” (NIV)
Earlier in Mark 12:30, Jesus responded to those church leaders asking Him for the greatest commandment. “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” (KJV)
We cannot trust our own understanding of what all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength even are. We must trust God with all. As Proverbs 3:5 teaches us, we will trust in You LORD with all our hearts and lean not on our own understandings. LORD we are asking You now for Your wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. Please fill all our hearts, souls, and minds with Your commands.
I trust You LORD over all people, places, and things. You are the source of our daily bread. I pray to live and give you all. Please guide us with Your love and faithfulness and write them on the tablets of our hearts as you promise in Proverbs 3:3.
Bless us LORD with Your presence in all areas of our lives. Let us give the LORD our all today.
Today’s Prayer: LORD, we are praying together now to praise You for all things and to honor You with our possessions and firstfruits of all our increase. Bless us LORD with Your presence, wisdom, understanding, and knowledge today. You LORD are our safety and security. Please write Your commands, love, and faithfulness on the tablets of our hearts so we can give this to all others. We are asking all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
