Today’s Scripture: Romans 8:39, NIV- “neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Paul went to great lengths to convince us that nothing can separate us from the love of God that was brought to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. NOTHING. In Romans 8:38, Paul said he was convinced. Are we?
We all experience highs and lows in life and in our spiritual life. Most times, it is in our lowest times, rock-bottom so to speak that we reach our point of convincement. We must first become convinced that we need God. When we welcome God, His love and power are with us forever. Jesus gave up everything to bring us everything that God offers.
Our temporary highs and lows will fade but the love of God is forever. I am convinced Jesus loves me and you. I am also convinced that there are powers of angels and demons as Paul references in Romans 8:38. Along with life and death, Paul says nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We can weather today’s storms trusting, convinced even, that God is with us with all His love and glory. Thank You LORD for being right here, right now with me. I may not be in a good place right now, but I know that You God and Your love are in this place with me. LORD, I am trusting You with all my life. My heights and depths or anything else this world can throw at me today.
Romans 8:37 promises we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. What are we conquering? In the previous verse Romans 8:36 we are told we face death all day long like sheep to the slaughter. In our daily events and stresses we face death. Sometimes we face physical death and sometimes it is spiritual death. However, we are more than conquerors in both because of the love of God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:35 makes me smile knowing that NOTHING can separate us from the love of Christ. NOTHING. Christ faced death and rose again to intercede for us where we are today. Whatever you or I are facing today, Jesus loves us and is with us helping us conquer this life for His love. God chose us for this life, and it is God who will justify us in whatever we face.
I am convinced I will love God with the love I receive from Jesus today and trust in His love and Spirit to help me conquer this life for His glory. We can trust, as Paul did, in Romans 8:32 that the God of all Creation Who gave us His only Son, will freely give us whatever we need. We can trust God over our momentary difficulties because He chose us, and He loves us. I am convinced, are you?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving us and sending Your Son Christ Jesus for us. I am trusting and living in Your love today. I am convinced LORD that You will help me conquer whatever it is in this life that I am facing. I am praying now for You to fill me with your Spirit and to surround me with Your angels so that I can be confident that through the heights and depths of this life, I am held and loved by You and we will conquer this life for Your glory one day at a time. Amen.
