Today’s Scripture: Galatians 1:1 (ESV): Paul, an apostle–not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—
Paul made it clear who defined him as an apostle: Jesus and God the Father. The same should be true for us. In Galatians 1:10, Paul’s truth is our reality, if we are still trying to please man, we cannot be a servant of Christ.
If I am trying to please man, which includes ME, I would not be a servant of Christ. I lived most of my life so concerned with what others thought that by age 40 I realized I did not even know who I was. I had become defined by what I thought others wanted I had lost me.
I knew the God talk and went to church but was a practicing alcoholic. Seeking to know Jesus and God I have found myself. Have you ever struggled with seeking the approval of man or allowing man to define you?
Who will you allow to define you?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father thank You for coming to live in my heart. I so love You and Your Spirit. I am thankful for Jesus’ love and direction. I only seek the approval You and Jesus. Please help me resist the temptation to seek the approval of man. You LORD are all I need and all I seek. I desire to please You. Amen

Affirmations of God

Once we learn, and truly believe, who we are in Christ and how He sees us then what others think of us doesn’t matter. At least that’s my view and it took me a whole lot of years to learn that. God didn’t make clones, we are individuals specially made for Him. Enjoy who you truly are Tom. Blessings to you.
Amen Sue! I was forty years old before I realized I did not know who I was until the world defined who they wanted and I would be that person. Not God defined but looking to please others. Thankfully, He broke me down and has taken away all things in which the world judges and life is much richer and fuller in living to be the person God formed us to be and defines! The uniqueness of each one of us is needed in the body of Christ. Thank you for being you and lifting me and others to be who we truly are. Blessings in being who He has defined!
