Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 24:32 ESV: Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction.
Do we spend more time looking for instruction than looking for the source of the best instruction? Are we really looking very hard?
A few years back I vividly recall crying out to God while on my knees, with hands held high, asking Him why He remained silent in my life. I had been searching, I had been listening, or though I thought. I really had been kind of lazy.
The evidence is clear when we are lazy, isn’t it? The writer of this Proverb learned from the evidence of the sluggard. I have learned that if I turn to God in prayer and read His Word that He is faithful to instruct. God does speak if we are seeking Him.
If we fear God and seek Him above all things this is the beginning of wisdom. With instruction we become wiser.
Are you actively seeking God?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, prepare my heart for instruction. Open my spirit to the teaching of Your Holy Spirit. I actively seek You and Your truth LORD. Please remove the obstacles of my flesh and my understanding. I trust that I will receive the instruction You desire for me and I pray to do Your will. Help me to look with the Spirit within me. Amen
