Today’s Scripture: I Corinthians 4:2 NIV: Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
God’s timing in amazingly perfect. This Tyndale House Chronological NLT translation seems to take some liberties but it is perfect. 1 Corinthians 4:3: What about me? Have I been faithful? Well it matters very little what you or anyone else thinks. I don’t even trust my own judgment on this point. Seriously, four years between posts on this scripture and “proving faithful” has even more meaning to me today.
Verse four states: My conscience is clear, but that isn’t what matters. It is the Lord himself who will examine me and decide. Have you had God’s word show up in real time and challenge you? The next verse says the Lord will bring our deepest secrets to life and reveal our private motives. Will you receive His praise?
Thank you God for verse 20: For the Kingdom of God is not just fancy talk: it is living my God’s power. Will you prove faithful and live in God’s power?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, I need Your power to prove faithful. There are times when I prove I can’t be trusted. I am so weak but You are so powerful. Help me to bless those who curse me and be patient with those who abuse me. Help me to respond gently when evil things are said about me. LORD help me to be obedient to Your power. Amen
