Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 13:1, TLB- “If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”
It is not easy to love others. I am afraid that the older I get it gets harder to even like others. But, here I am this morning in my time of seeking God and He brings me the reminder that I must love others or everything I say is just a clanging annoyance to the ears of others.
1 Corinthians 12 teaches us the Holy Spirit is the only way this will work. If we confess Jesus is Lord, we are all part of His body. We must accept the other parts as they are and trust the Creator of the body.
I do need the Holy Spirit of God. I have to trust God that He built this body and knows best how it is to function. Lord God we need Your love.
If you could speak any language today, will it be the language of love?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, Jesus is Lord. Thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit even when we are unlikable. I need Your love Father God and the power of Your Holy Spirit to help me love others. I pray to be the part of Your body that You intended. Grant me Your love so my voice does not only annoy others as a clanging cymbal. Help me to have love even when my body does not feel it. Fill me Lord with Your love and Spirit so I can show and be love to all others. Amen
