Today’s Scripture: Acts 1:8, NIV- “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Jesus told the apostles to wait in Jerusalem for the Gift His Father promised. He promised them and us the Holy Spirit and told us what to do with it.
We have Jesus’ helper the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit helps us commune with God in our prayers to open our eyes, heart, and soul to the Father. I ask Jesus’ helper to help me experience what Jesus did in those early morning hours well before the sun came up with the Father. I am also asking now he teaches me how to witness to the ends of the earth.
We can pray constantly, like these early apostles, and realize the Holy Spirit uses all of God’s Word to teach us. We now share in Jesus’ ministry. We now have our place of leadership powered by the Holy Spirit to be witnesses of Christ.
Will you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ and for Your Holy Spirit. I welcome Your Holy Spirit to teach me and remind me of everything Jesus came to teach us. I also ask for Your Spirit to guide my prayers. Please reveal the fullness of Jesus’ time with You to me. Open my eyes, my heart, my spirit and my soul to Your Spirit. Give me the wisdom and strength to be Your witness to the ends of the earth. Amen
