Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 11:10 NIV: In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his place of rest will be glorious.
Seven hundred years before Jesus was born Isaiah promised that we would find glorious rest in Jesus. Two thousand years later this prophesy proves true.
The world progresses yet the one true place of rest is in Jesus Christ. Look around your life. Look around this world today. Everywhere people are striving and fighting for positions and ideologies. Unrest is everywhere; except in Christ. Rest is not found in being right but being in Christ.
Are you tired? Find rest, glorious rest in Jesus. This rest is not inaction but one of peace that Christ completes God’s plan. Living in Christ and sharing His delight in the fear of the LORD is the only place our souls find true rest and peace.
No matter what we face today we can turn our hearts, our minds and our souls to Christ and find rest. Trusting in His will and His Spirit brings rest, glorious rest.
Do you trust Jesus enough to rest in Him?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, thank You for Jesus and Your Spirit that rests upon me. Thank You for those who prophesied His coming and for His life and gifts to us. His example, His grace and His Spirit give us guidance and rest. LORD, my heart delights in the fear of You and my soul is Yours. Thank You for Your glorious rest. Amen
