Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 10:12-13 ESV: And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments and statutes of the LORD, which I am commanding you today for your good?
Do you want what has been promised to you? This is a long affirmation but a short list of requirements to take possession of the land God has promised you. Despite our stubbornness and unrighteousness God still keeps His promises and He loves us.
Can we have awe and reverence for God? Can we walk in His ways? Can we love Him? Can we serve Him with all of our hearts and souls? Can we keep His commandments?
We can with God and His Holy Spirit. Simply, our righteousness and perfection are not required but our love for God is.
The LORD prepared our way with Jesus. What do we have to do? Fear Him, walk with Him. Love Him; serve Him with all our hearts and souls and love as He has instructed us.
Will you ask the Holy Spirit to help you do what is required of you?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, You are the God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God. Thank You for forgiving my unrighteousness and my stubbornness. Help me LORD with Your Spirit to be who You require. I know it is Your might and not mine. You are my God. Amen
