Today’s Scripture: Mark 14:36 ESV: And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
Our will, our flesh, can lead us contrary to God’s will can’t it? As Jesus said to the disciples just two verses later in Mark: 14:38 “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (ESV) We must stay alert and pray.
Selfishly going and doing what I want only robs me of God’s will and witnessing His miracles. I need God’s help in asking where I should go and what I should do. Too many times I just go and do what I want. If I only would recall that His will is fulfilling, impactful and eternal.
The disciples asked, they went, and they found just what Jesus told them they would. We just need to ask, to go and trust we will find what God tells us we will.
Will we ask Jesus where we are to go today? Do we desire His will over our own?
Today’s Prayer: Abba Father, all things are possible for You and I ask You to show me Your will. LORD, where do You want me to go? Help me to hear You clearly and help me to desire Your will over my own. Build up my spirit so that I will allow You to overcome my flesh. I trust I will find what You promise. Amen
