Today’s Scripture: Micah 4:5, NKJV- “For all people walk each in the name of his god, But we will walk in the name of the LORD our God Forever and ever.”
Micah was granted a vision to give to God’s people about the last days. Although we do not know God’s last days we can listen to His prophets and walk in the ways of our LORD. This world presents many gods.
We must be careful to not follow the ways of the masses. We must always remember the words and warnings of Jesus in Matthew 7:13-14 which states, “13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (NIV)
I am thankful for the promise of Micah 4:6, ““In that day,” says the LORD, “I will assemble the lame, I will gather the outcast And those whom I have afflicted;” Who of us are not lame, nor outcasts from this world, and have not experienced grief? I am grateful that our LORD, our King, is forever.
When we seek the way of greatness of our LORD, we are on the correct path. Our God delivers us from the rulers of this world. We do not depend on the ways of humankind. We should run our race with God so that at the end of our race we experience Micah 5:9, “Your hand will be lifted up in triumph over your enemies, and all your foes will be destroyed.”
There will be a day as promised to us by Micah 5:13, that we will no longer worship the work of our hands. God has simplified this complicated life. We can grasp the simplicity of Micah 6:8, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” (NKJV)
Micah phrases this as a question then and now. Will we simply do justly, love mercy, and walk with our God today? We can only trust our LORD in the ways we are to go. Deceivers are plentiful. As in Micah’s day and Micah 7:3 we see that many “hands are skilled in doing evil; the ruler demands gifts, the judge accepts bribes, the powerful dictate what they desire— they all conspire together.” (NIV)
Our trust and confidence must only be in the LORD. We can live Micah 7:7, “Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.” Our God does hear us. We also hear Him in these words of His prophets. We can choose to walk humbly with our LORD and follow His light. Will we?
Today’s Prayer: Our heavenly Father, our LORD, and our God. Please bring us into Your light so that we can see Your righteousness. LORD, please expand our boundaries. Help us stand with You. Use us to shepherd your people. Thank You LORD for showing us Your wonders and compassion. We love You LORD and seek to walk in Your light today. In Jesus’ name we do pray. Amen.
