Today’s Scripture: Matthew 12:15 ESV– Jesus, aware of this, withdrew from there. And many followed him, and he healed them all
Do you want healing? Jesus combined healing with Sabbath day practices in this chapter. Jesus was being addressed here by the Pharisees once again to trap Jesus by His words. Similar to the practices today it appears enemies of Jesus are continually playing with words and twisting their meanings and intentions.
I love the line Jesus used in Matthew 12:12, “it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath”. Although our Sabbath days may be different, we should just keep doing good. As we are told in recovery, just do the next right thing. Let’s do that, shall we, regardless of the opinions and intentions of others.
Let us follow Jesus as stated here in Matthew 12:15 and know that if we continue to follow Jesus he will continue to heal. I have been healed and I will continue to be healed because of what Jesus has done and what he continues to do as I follow.
Will you follow Jesus and be healed? I pray we allow Jesus to define our healing.
Today’s Prayer: I am following you Jesus. Whether the Sabbath day or any day I pray to follow You and to do good. Guide me Lord Jesus to the next good and righteous thing. Help me to be faithful and to not twist Your words. I want to live for You Jesus and Your healing and to offer Your healing in spite of the words of man. Amen
