Today’s Scripture: Revelation 1:5, NIV- “and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,”
Somehow, I have jumped from Hebrews to Revelations in one morning. In Hebrews 11 and 12, we read about our faith ancestors. We are encouraged to believe that God exists and to seek Him. We are to seek God diligently with only the expectation to finish our race for His eternal rewards.
We conquer this life through faith in God and receive what God promises as we are told in Hebrews 11:33. God has something better planned for us and we will realize this in heaven. We must have faith that we are a part of God’s perfect plan.
John blesses us in Revelation as God’s angel came to him. We have received peace, grace, and freedom through the blood of Jesus Christ. We were made to serve Jesus’ God and Father and to bring Him glory forever and ever.
We are told in Revelation 2:9 that God knows of our tribulations and poverty, yet we are rich in Him. Revelation 2:10 instructs us not to be afraid of what we may suffer but to remain faithful to the end and He will give us the crown of life. As we repent of our sins, we become victorious. God knows our works.
John reminds us in Revelation 3:11 that Jesus is coming soon, and we should hold on to what we have, so that no one will take our crown. We are a part of Jesus’ kingdom, and we must continue to do our part.
As promised in Revelation 3:20, Jesus is standing at the door and knocking. Anyone who hears His voice and opens the door, He will come in and eat with us, and us with Him. Let us listen to His voice and open the door.
Like the twenty-four elders that John saw in Revelation 4:10-11, we can fall down before the throne of God today and say “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
We can join the chorus of angels referenced in Revelation 5:12 and say to Jesus “Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” We too can fall on our faces like the elders and fall down and worship God the Father and His Son today.
As we fall down before the LORD, we come to know His riches. Will You fall before Him today?
Today’s Prayer: Mighty God, thank You for Your love and the freedom You give us through the life and death of Jesus. Help us to remember Your promises as we enter battles and as we face evil. Help us to have patient endurance, help us to listen to Your Spirit and to understand. I will cling to You Father and thank You for preparing me to do my part. I am falling before You now knowing You are worthy to be praised. Amen
