Today’s Scripture: Revelation 7:11, NKJV- “All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,”
Each of us has just a few decisions or actions that change the course of our lives forever. At those moments, we cannot possibly know the impact on our lives and the lives of others. As I harvest affirmations from Revelation, I realize that although I cannot comprehend the apocalyptic writings of this book, I can take the position of the angels before the throne of God.
My life changed forever when I began to fall down face first before God. I have told you of the story of how a young man stated in an AA meeting that his life had forever changed because every morning he hit his knees and thanked his higher power for keeping him sober yesterday and asked him to keep him sober today.
Sitting in that plastic chair of that AA meeting I committed to hitting my knees early in the morning to meet with Jesus. This is now my testimony forever. As I read Revelation 6:9 this morning I know that I am simply just trying to be faithful in my testimony by sharing God’s work in my life. I am certainly no martyr as this verse refers to, but I am committed to sharing what I have found.
I have no recollection who that young man or angel was in that AA meeting. I cannot recall his face, yet he directed me to the face of God. I am praying now you will find what I have found as I have fallen face down before God. I am praying that I never hide from the face of God as those referenced in Revelation 6:16 in John’s vision of the last days.
Whether the stars of the sky are falling to earth, or the great day of wrath has come, I am praying God and the Lamb find me faithfully on my face before them. I am not concerned with surviving as I am only concerned with being faithful. I have no concept of what the seal will be that is placed on the foreheads of God’s servants John wrote of in Revelation 7:3.
I am not a biblical scholar, but I do pray my forehead is found to be marked from the ground as I am face down before my Creator. Whether I am sealed or not I cannot control but deciding to fall on my face before God is a decision I can make.
As Revelation 7:10 states, I can cry out with the only voice I have, that “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” You and I can do as the angels and beings did in Revelation 7:11 as they “fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God.”
We can also repeat the words of the angels as recorded in Revelations 7:12. “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” (NIV) No matter what we face today, we will face it best with our faces bowed down before the Almighty God.
God does shelter us with His presence as we fall before Him so we can face anything.Revelation 7:17 is a wonderful promise that “the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” (KJB)
Will you choose to fall on your face before God today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth. I am falling before You just as Your angels and crying out, blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and strength belong to You. I belong to You LORD and I am trusting Jesus, the Lamb of God. Please call us to Your throne day and night and be our shelter and our strength. Grant us the patient endurance and the faith to be prepared for Your harvest and use our testimonies to prepare others forever. Amen.
