Today’s Scripture: Romans 14:11, KJB- “As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”
We have choices every day, don’t we? In Joshua’s famous declaration in Joshua 24:15 he said, “choose you this day whom ye will serve.” (KJB). Of course, we recall that Joshua boldly said, “but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Jesus also made a clear declaration in Romans 14:11. Every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue shall confess to God. It is going to happen. When the Lord of creation declares it, it will come to pass, ready or not. Why not choose to be ready today. Choose you this day to bow your knees to the Lord and confess to God.
Sometimes I struggle to order my thoughts and my life. However, I do not struggle to start my days by bowing my knees and confessing to God. Regardless of whatever happens that day I have established Whom I will serve. Nothing else really matters.
If we confess and give a personal account of ourselves to God every morning we do not have to put off seeing our Lord face to face. We do it every morning. When we meet in heaven it will be a continuation of love, thanksgiving, and awe.
Focusing on the Lord and God we lose interest in the details of life that simply do not matter in the grand scheme of things. Bowing our knees before the Lord and confessing to God we find the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit Paul promises in Romans 14:17. When we first choose to bow to the Lord and confess to God, joy and peace are the fruits.
These scriptures in Romans are letting us know there are some battles we just do not need to fight among our brothers and sisters. Our focus and our commitment is on the LORD. When we are focused on Him other concerns seem to blur out.
Romans 14:22 advises us to keep our faith between us and God. In the dark, starting our day on our knees, this is a very personal time with God. You have chosen God and You have chosen to confess your choice to choose Him. God blesses this time and our lives.
Do you bow your knees before the Lord and confess to God?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am choosing this day to serve You. Thank You for bending my knees to I know You. You are my Lord and my God. In You I confess and search. Thank You, LORD, for the peace and joy of Your Holy Spirit. Fill me LORD with Your wonders and guide me upon the paths You have for me. I am welcoming Your kingdom and Your will and thanking You for my daily bread now. Amen.
