Today’s Scripture: Psalm 81:16, ESV- “But he would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.”
God will let us have our own way as He does with His people in Psalm 81. We can choose the best there is from God or get disappointed over and over again by life. Why in the world do we choose the things of the world over God?
Just as in my recovery every time I thought turning back to my desires it would be different. This time I could pace myself or change. But that movie plays out every time and always ends up in a bad place.
Likewise in life, looking to the world and anything in it for these things found in Psalm 81: strength, joy, relief, freedom, deliverance, admonishment (yes, even the correction we seek), counsel and direction are all best found in God.
If we submit to God, listen to His counsel and walk in His ways we find His finest. This is not settling; this is finding the finest. Life in God is the finest and truest satisfaction available to us. There is not a better or newer plan.
God is my plan and I am sticking with Him. How about you?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, You are my God. You are my strength and I shout for joy to You, O God of Jacob. I only seek relief, freedom and satisfaction in You. Thank you for giving me Your finest. Forgive me for seeking elsewhere and I am thankful for Your gentle admonishment. I am listening to You God and help me to walk in Your ways. Thank You for satisfying me with Your finest. Amen
