Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 13: 20-21, KJB- “Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.”
Because of Jesus Christ we already have what it takes to do God’s will. The blood of Jesus has welcomed us into the Holy of Holies. Jesus is our great shepherd, and He has equipped us to shepherd others.
We complicate what God has made simple. Hebrews 13:16 simply states, “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” (NIV) We can please God by simply doing good and sharing with others.
To those who may not know God or Jesus, they may not know why we are kind to them. We can give glory to God and the grace of Jesus. Our God has equipped us to show His goodness. Our God is the God of peace, and he has made us, perfected us even, to be His instruments of peace.
As the writer of Hebrews simply wrote in Hebrews 13:25, “Grace be with you all. Amen.” Amen is defined as “so be it.” So, the grace of Jesus Christ has given us the power of the Holy Spirit to do good. Let us be His grace today.
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father thank You for perfecting us and equipping us to do Your will. Help us to glorify You and Jesus Christ today by doing Your good and sharing the grace we have been given. Thank You for preparing the way and for preparing us. Use us LORD to shepherd others to You. To the glory of Jesus Christ forever and ever we do pray. Amen.
