Today’s Scripture: 1 Kings 8: 56, NKJV-“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.”
God and His Word make my heart smile! His Word is so perfect, instructional, and timely. We only rob ourselves of great joy and rest when we choose to spend time elsewhere. I chuckle and smiled as I read 1 Kings 8 this morning.
The nation of Israel, the people of God, have gone through many cycles of sinning against God, being taken over by their enemies and carried into lands where they have been taken captive. But as we kneel and raise our hands to heaven, He does hear us.
Only God can incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He has commanded. As we seek Him, all the peoples of the earth will come to know that the Lord is God; there is no other.
Are you willing to kneel and raise your hands to heaven where you find rest?
Today’s Prayer: God of Heaven, God of Israel, my God, thank You for looking down on us and hearing our prayers. Let my heart be loyal to You O Lord. Help me to walk in Your statutes and Your commandments today. Blessed be Your name Lord and thank You for giving me rest. Please forgive my sins against You. Please hear my prayers from this land my enemies have taken me to to attempt to hold me captive. I am Your captive alone O God and I will continue to seek Your face and Your rest in the land I have been given. Amen
