Today’s Scripture: Acts 11:17 ESV: If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”
Traditional logic is not to frame an affirmation as a question but to state a desire as already achieved. The big question however is not what we desire for our lives but what God desires. Who are we to stand in God’s way?
We have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit and repentance that leads to life. The hand of the Lord is with us and we can turn to Him. We can remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose.
If we remain filled with the Holy Spirit and faith we will fulfill God’s way and purpose. We each have the ability given to us by God’s Holy Spirit. We can live from what we have been given.
Instead of living FOR the way of the world and for our own fleshly desires we can choose to live FROM the Holy Spirit and faith and find life in God’s way.
Will you stand in God’s way?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank you for giving us the gift of the Holy Spirit. In Your Spirit we find Your Way. Help us to live faithfully from this gift You have given us. Just as in the day of Barnabas may we see a great many people added to You. We will do this best by living the life You intend from Your Holy Spirit. I am choosing Your way. Amen
