Today’s Scripture: Mark 1:38 HCSB: And He said to them, “Let’s go on to the neighboring villages so that I may preach there too. This is why I have come.”
Do you know why you have come? Jesus knew.
These words from Jesus came after they found Him leaving His time alone with God. Mark 1:35 is one that astounds me and reminds me daily of Jesus’ custom that screams to show us our why: “Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” (NKJV)
Jesus, who is God, went out a long while before daylight to be alone and pray. He knew WHY He came. Everything He did, everywhere He decided to go He went because of His WHY.
How will we find out where we should go today? More importantly how do we get in touch with our WHY?
The Way of Jesus Christ is The Way to our Why’s. Will you get alone with God and ask Him to teach you why you came?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus’ example. Thank You for meeting us in prayer just as You met Jesus. Thank You for calling us into solitude with You. Please teach us to pray and why we have come. Awaken me LORD early, long before daylight and call me into Your solitude where I will learn why I came and go and do Your will. Amen
