Today’s Scripture: Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, “This child will be rejected by many in Israel, and it will be their undoing. But he will be the greatest joy to many others. Luke 2:34 NLT
The Word is alive! Yes, Jesus is alive and He is my greatest joy. Simeon promised this to Mary and Joseph when they brought Jesus to the Temple when He was only forty days old. Here we are today and this old man who was filled with the Holy Spirit over two thousand years ago knew
Simeon knew Jesus would be our greatest joy. A joy equaled by nothing and no one. I am filled as the Lord sent me to the chronological life of Jesus this week. Trying to recall the timing of Jesus’ ministry I knocked the dust off The One Year Chronological Bible sitting on my bookshelf. What fun, what joy in reviewing the power of God and the Holy Spirit.
Like the Wise Men who traveled to see Jesus when He was a young child, God still guides us today; what joy and comfort I find there. Like when Jesus was only twelve years old He reminded Mary and Joseph AND US that we know where to find Him. We do know where to find Him and yes we find joy there too. The greatest joy, do you have it?
Today’s Prayer: God You are the source of true joy. Thank You for giving me the greatest joy. I praise and worship You Father and I thank You for Your Holy Spirit and for the life of Jesus. As Jesus increased in stature and in wisdom I ask You Father to increase me. Like those who came to John I ask You what to do. Thank You for answering and filling me with great joy. I love You Father. Amen
