Today’s Scripture: James 3:17 NKJ: But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
James has us pegged. Much of this verse refers to the power of the tongue. What we speak turns us in different directions. James says no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. The same tongue produces blessing and cursing.
This should not be so and I am guilty. The source from where we speak is apparent. None of us contain the wisdom and understanding except what has come from above. If we seek wisdom from our nature or from the natural we spew evil.
If we seek wisdom from above and speak from the Spirit from above we speak purity, peace, gentleness and mercy. Our tongues and our lives will produce good fruits without partiality and hypocrisy.
This is ONLY possible if we seek and live from the wisdom from above. James warns that self-seeking wisdom produces worldly, self-centered and demonic results.
Where do you seek wisdom?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am seeking Your wisdom. Please forgive me Father for speaking from the natural and my self-seeking ways. I need Your supernatural wisdom to speak and produce Your fruits. I do not contain Your goodness and wisdom in myself. Help me to find, speak and live from Your wisdom. Amen
