Today’s scripture: Joel 2:12 ESV: “Yet even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
We all turn away from the LORD, don’t we? Just as in the time of Joel we are called to return to the LORD with all of our hearts.
The great news, the very awesome news is that He is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish as stated in verse 13. (NLT)
Individually and as a people we can return to the LORD with all of our hearts, with fasting, with weeping and with mourning. The LORD will bless us and send His armies to protect us. Just as in verse 21 we will be glad and rejoice in the great things our LORD has done.
Our LORD satisfies, vindicates and restores us; He pours out His Spirit upon us. Let us all return to the LORD and call on His name and be saved.
Will you return to the LORD with all of your heart?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, I return to You with all of my heart. Tear away those parts of my heart not fully committed to You. Help me to fast, weep and mourn with passion for You. I trust in Your mercy and love. Pour Your Spirit out on me and show me Your ways. Amen
