Today’s Scripture: Philippians 1:4 ESV: always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,
Paul’s heart was revealed in his honest introduction to those in the church at Philippi. What our hearts say is more important than our mouths. We can read between the heartbeats and the lines.
“I thank MY God” in the previous verse Paul reveals a very personal relationship. He was not praying at an unknown God. He was praying to HIS God. “Always and in every prayer” shows Paul spent a lot of time with his God. These were Paul’s prayers with God from his heart and were not mere words.
We can pray with joy too. When I look up and thank my God I feel joy and thanksgiving that He is MY God. The joy starts there. I am so thankful He is my God and the joy is made complete when I am able to pray for others with this joy, grace and peace.
Are your prayers made with joy?
Today’s Prayer: O LORD, my God, I praise You and lift my prayers to You. Thank You for being my God. Thank You for loving me and caring for me. I love Your LORD and my heart is filled with joy and thanksgiving. Lord help me to always and in every prayer remember others in my prayer with joy. Amen
