Today’s Scripture: “Listen! A sower went out to sow. Mark 4:3 ESV
Jesus says Listen! Yes, that is an exclamation point and I struggle to write the words “I Listen” but this is an affirmation of who I hope to be in Christ and not necessarily where I am all the time. We just need to receive the word of God.
In this parable the sower has already gone out and sown the seed. What soil has it landed on? Holy Spirit please give us the ears to hear and rich soil to prosper Your word. Jesus taught and Jesus still teaches. Do we hear it? Do we act on what we hear?
“Consider carefully what you hear,” he continued. “With the measure you use, it will be measured to you–and even more. Mark 4:24 NIV
Did you hear that? Listen closely He is speaking. What will we do with what we hear? In the measure we act upon what we hear we will be given more. How much more do we wish to hear?
Today’s Prayer: Jesus thank You for speaking and teaching me. Prosper in me Father God that I will bear the fruit You intended. Help me to hear what I am able to hear Jesus. Strengthen and instruct me to act and do what You call me to do. Thank You for opening my eyes and my ears and refreshing me. I find calm and confidence in You. Please explain to me what I am to do, I am listening. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life
Tom,
Your prayer ended with this:
“Please explain to me what I am to do, I am listening. Amen”
Of all the high-falutin’, super-spiritual, long-winded pious prayers that we have all heard uttered for the benefit and glorification of the person praying, your simple prayer here, Tom, puts them all to shame.
“Please, Father, explain to me and tell me what it is You would have me do today.”
Beautiful and powerful in its honesty, submission, and sonship. Good stuff, Tom.
Thanks brother!
This is a prayer of mine, that I would continue listening to His sweet voice. So often I’m so busy that I fail to stop to listen. Thanks for the reminder, Tom.
It is a constant turning isn’t it. Continually listening to the Spirit. We must remember to be still when we can! Thank you Dustin for stopping by!
