Today’s Scripture: 1 Peter 1:4 NLT: and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.
Ok, I have had a bee in my bonnet, so to speak, over the past few years that Jesus did not come ONLY to save us for all of eternity but to show us how to live today. I have felt that Christianity today focuses too much on saving people without equipping them to live.
It is not only about being “saved”. However, the Word of God is reminding me, banging me over the head even, that we must also look to our priceless inheritance in Him. Just yesterday in Hebrews 12:2 I noticed that Jesus was able to endure His suffering by looking to the joy He would receive afterward.
Here in 1 Peter 1:4, I too am filled with hope and promise in my priceless inheritance. I may not have great wealth here on earth but I too, like Jesus, am looking to the joy of this priceless inheritance.
What inheritance are you looking towards?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of Your priceless inheritance to us. Help us to live with this inheritance in mind today. LORD, I can endure today knowing You love me and You have greater things in store for me. Help me LORD to live today looking beyond the pressing needs of this life to live for Your inheritance. Amen

Affirmations of God
That inheritance He has promised is what keeps me running the race He has lain out for me. I have said in the past, “He made a mistake when He showed me there was a much better place than here on earth.” More and more I realized this earth isn’t my home and I’m home sick. I wanna go home! 🙂
We struggle with it just as Paul did. We would prefer to be there but pray we do daily His calling while still here for sure. It was refreshing to see that Jesus too could fulfill His purpose by looking toward that great joy! Looking towards the priceless inheritance and allowing Him to use this earthly vessel however He so chooses…Blessings as we approach that day!
