Today’s Scripture: So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. John 16:22 NLT
Two days before Jesus was crucified He promised this joy to His disciples. Jesus really poured it on the disciples and those around them in His last days on earth. Reading His word during this time is overwhelming.
The thought of Jesus washing my feet brings tears to my eyes and the concept of doing this to others brings a call to serve. Yes I believe Jesus is the Messiah and it humbles me to know the Messiah loves me. Jesus said in John 16:12 “There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. No Lord, I can not bear any more but I am thankful for the Counselor that continues to reveal You.
How in the world will we fulfill the truth Jesus stated in John 14:12: “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” Jesus, you told us these things so we would be filled with joy. Thank you for filling us. I rejoice that You gave Yourself entirely so that we also could be entirely God’s. This is a joy that no one or no thing can rob from us.
Have you experienced this joy?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus. Everything I have is a gift from You. I belong to You and am filled with joy. I give myself entirely to You God and go into the world as Jesus has sent me. Jesus and Your Holy Spirit continue to reveal You to me. I am overwhelmed in the flesh but accept being one with You in the Spirit. Thank you for this overflowing joy. I love you. Amen

An amazing gift … to know the gift of joy of the Spirit. How good God is. How much He desires to give us, if we would only seek, trust and walk with Him.

Greater works… I had a discussion with some friends about that scripture. We have been given the opportunity to reach more people than could be reached in Jesus’ time. What a responsibility we’ve been given to share His Love! The love that brings joy! Thanks Tom
