Today’s Scripture: Psalm 25:5 ESV: Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.
We struggle with waiting on the LORD don’t we? In the English vernacular we think to be patient and “wait” for an answer. The original Hebrew and Greek meaning is more like being bound together with the LORD, like the strands of a rope. David asks the LORD to lead and teach him while saying he waited all the day long.
It doesn’t sound as if David was sitting around all day but that he was tied together with God for every move. I have a sense of urgency to wait more actively to give away what God has given me.
Like David I am asking the LORD to make His ways known and for Him to teach me. I encourage you to do the same. What has God called you to? Are you simply waiting or are you actively waiting and following the LORD and His ways?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God I praise You. I thank You for the communion of the Holy Spirit on my behalf. I find hope, joy, peace and strength as I look to You and wait. Teach me LORD how to share this joy You have given me. Show me Your path to blessing others with what you have blessed me. Amen
