Nehemiah 9:36, NKJV- “Here we are, servants today! And the land that You gave to our fathers, To eat its fruit and its bounty, Here we are, servants in it!”
How will you serve today? Below are just some of the scriptures we can affirm to live as God’s servants. The scriptures provide examples of how we may be servants of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, and all others.
I am a servant of Christ Jesus.
Philippians 1:1, ESV- “Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus, To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are at Philippi, with the overseers and deacons:”
I am a servant of the LORD.
Psalm 18:1, NIV- “For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD. He sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: I love you, LORD, my strength.”
Psalm 34:22, NKJV- “The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.”
Psalm 113:1, NIV- “Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, you his servants; praise the name of the LORD.”
Truly, O LORD, I am Your servant.
Psalm 116:16, BSB- “Truly, O LORD, I am Your servant; I am Your servant, the son of Your maidservant; You have broken my bonds.
Psalm 119:125, NKJV- “I am Your servant; Give me understanding, That I may know Your testimonies.”
As a servant of God, I praise and fear Him.
Revelation 19:5, NKJV- “Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”
I am a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ.
Titus 1:1, NIV- “Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness—”
I am a servant of Christ and a steward of the mysteries of God.
1 Corinthians 4:1, ESV- “This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.”
I have made myself a servant to all.
1 Corinthians 9:19, NKJV- “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;”
I live as a servant of God.
1 Peter 2:16, ESV- “Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.”
I am a servant for Jesus’ sake.
2 Corinthians 4:5, BSB-“For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.”
I am a servant of the Most High God.
Acts 16:17, NKJV- “This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.”
I am a servant of the gospel.
Colossians 1:23, NIV- “if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.”
Today’s Prayer: Father God, our God Most High, we praise and fear You. Thank You for calling us to be Your servants. Please reveal to us today how we may serve for Jesus’ sake. Make our way clear as we live as Your servants and as servants of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In the name of Christ Jesus, who we serve. Amen.
