Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 37:13, NKJV- “Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves.
The LORD had just brought life to the dry bones of Ezekiel 37 so the people of the LORD would know that He is LORD. What has the LORD done in your life, so you knew God is the LORD? Do you know?
God has a way of proving Himself to us. We may not have witnessed Him adding tendons and flesh to dry bones and breathing life into them, but we do come to know that only the LORD could have breathed this new life into us.
I am convinced that the Spirit of the LORD moves each one of us to the place He wants us so we will come to know He is LORD. It has been my experience that Ezekiel 37:14 is just as true today as it was in the days of Ezekiel. “I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it and performed it,” says the LORD.’” (NKJV)
When we live from the Spirit of God and live in our own lane or land we come to know. When we know that no one can make this stuff up, we come to recognize the LORD and His Spirit. What brings you to life? Even more so, what brings you to life so that other people come to recognize that the LORD is God?
Do you have a story of how God got you to where you are now? Can your story be told so others come to know the LORD is God? I have often desired that God would be as specific with me as He was with characters like Ezekiel. God is more specific than we often want to admit.
Seriously God, certainly You are not putting me in that situation. Our comfort zones are filled with piles of dry bones. We must welcome the Spirit of God into our comfortable places so that He moves us to a land that brings life and knowledge of Him.
We will experience Ezekiel 37:18, ““When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you tell us what you mean by this?’ (NIV) People will be confused by our changes and yet the LORD will give us the words to explain what God is doing in us. We may not know what it means but we know it is God.
The LORD used Ezekiel to assure the Israelites they would be brought back into their own land. Ezekiel brought a message of hope to tribes of hopeless people. They now had hope in the one true God. When our hopes are also set on the LORD our God, it is here we find life and Him.
Just as the LORD did with the people of Israel in Ezekiel 37:26, He has made a covenant of peace with us and will live among us forever. Ezekiel 37:27 is comforting and empowering, “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (NIV)
Our LORD lives with us right where He has us, so we know He is our LORD and our God. Will you share how you came to know?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God of Israel and Ezekiel, thank You for being my LORD. Thank You LORD for Your Spirit that moves us to the land You intend. Thank You for breathing life into us so we may know You and others also find Your hope and knowledge. Thank You for Your covenant of peace that is with us forever. Amen.
