Today’s Scripture: Psalm 146:6, BSB- “the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He remains faithful forever.”
We have no concept of forever. Our moments seem so huge to us. From time to time, I am reminded of an old memory verse 2 Corinthians 4:17, “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
I can get defensive and profess that my troubles certainly do not feel light nor momentary! Yet, I do know in the grand scheme of things that Our LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth is faithful FOREVER.
Our struggles are temporary and where many of us have found God and His glory that far outweighs any troubles we have had. I am thankful for my troubles that brought me to God. God has proven to me He is my LORD and our LORD.
Earlier this morning I was in Revelation 16:5 and I recall the immensity of God I felt where it states, “And I heard the angel who had authority over all water saying, “You are just, O Holy One, who is and who always was, because you have sent these judgments.” Who is and Who always was.
Now in Psalm 146:6 we look at our Holy one as the Maker of heaven and earth and His faithfulness forever. We are a blip on the radar and our light and momentary troubles are even a shorter moment in time. Yet, in these moments of troubles and heartaches is where we come to know the King of kings and LORD of lords.
In my troubles, I experienced Psalm 146:8, “the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous.” (NIV) Broken and bowed down, it was the Maker of heaven and earth Who remains faithful forever who lifted me up.
How about you, can you join me in repenting and glorifying our LORD?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, Maker of Heaven, earth, and sea, thank You for lifting us up. In Your judgments LORD do we trust. Thank You for accepting our repentance. We gather to glorify Your name and sing Your praises as our Holy One Who is, Who always was, and Who is forever. Thank You for protecting and caring for us. In You LORD we trust and glorify. Amen.
