Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 2:8, NIV- “I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him.”
Throughout the Word of God, He reaffirms His love for us and we, in turn, can reaffirm our love for Him. As we approach God in prayer, we can approach Him with a heart full of thanksgiving for who He is and what He has done. As we open the Holy Bible, we can read seeking His love for us and we can reaffirm His Word and our love for Him.
As we are obedient to pray and read the Scriptures, we find our hearts, souls, and minds to be in the presence of God. His Holy Spirit is joined together with our spirits. The LORD opens doors for us to be apart of His love. As 2 Corinthians 2:14 promises, God always leads us to triumph in Christ and uses us to spread the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
As we reaffirm God’s love the world comes to know Him. We do put off a pleasing aroma of Christ to God. I can relate to Paul’s conviction to not peddle God’s Word but to share affirmations of God not for profit but to share how we can reaffirm our love. When we are filled with God’s love it overflows from us.
I only write what God has written on my heart so others will be encouraged to share their hearts. As 2 Corinthians 3:3 states, “we are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.” (NIV)
What are we writing on the hearts of others? What aroma are we releasing up to God? Christ’s love for us gives us the confidence to share and reaffirm the love we have received. Our confidence and our competence come from what God continues to reaffirm on the tablets of our hearts.
We are ministers of the Spirit of God that fills our hearts. As 2 Corinthians 3:6 states the Spirit we share gives life. We want to share with others the Spirit of God and the life we have received. It truly is a glorious ministry reaffirming the Spirit of God.
We should be bold and confident, sharing the love we have received. Sharing our hearts is the way we share the light God has shown on our lives. We can be bold in encouraging all others to share the light they have received. This dark world needs the light that shines from our hearts.
As 2 Corinthians 3:17 promises “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (NIV) We can offer others the freedom we have found in Christ. However, “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” As stated in 2 Corinthians 4:4, NIV.
Regardless of resistance, some who are blind will walk away knowing our hearts. We can pray for the eyes and hearts of those yet to be opened and trust the Holy Spirit of Christ to convict their hearts in His perfect timing. We only preach that Jesus Christ is Lord and how He freed us. As in 2 Corinthians 4:6, let light shine out of our darkness.
Thankfully 2 Corinthians 4:7 confirms we are not attempting to say we are strong, but we are but jars of clay, so fragile, that this proves our stories must be the all-surpassing power of God. May Jesus be revealed in us. We can reach more and more people as we share the light we found in our brokenness.
Will you share your light today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, thank You for Your love for us. Help us to reaffirm our love for you daily so that we can share Your love and light into this dark world. Thank You LORD for sending Jesus and His apostles to encourage us to share and give the light of our lives. You are our all-surpassing power, Father God. It is You and Your love for us we most desire to share and reaffirm. Thank You Lord Jesus for being our light. Amen.
