Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 6:10, NKJV- “as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.”
Sometimes we wonder how we have made it this long, don’t we? It can seem impossible to rationalize how we can still find joy. Yet, we can always rejoice. There are always things to be grateful for before the sorrows.
All of God’s power is ours. Paul was pointing out that life is not easy, even if someone chooses to be a servant or a minister of God. Paul sounds surprised to have survived in 2 Corinthians 6:9 in the various translations where he wrote “yet we live on” (NIV), “but we are still alive” (NLT), “behold, we live” (KJV).
We can make this and although, in the moment, we may feel as we have nothing, we can rejoice because we possess all things. 2 Corinthians 6:7 reminds us that we have the power of God, and he has given us weapons of righteousness to protect our joy.
Will you pull from your riches of joy today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your power and Your riches. Thank You for giving us possession of all things. We can rejoice that You give us endurance in our hardships and distresses. You have given us Your Holy Spirit where we can have patience, kindness, and sincere love. I am choosing to rejoice in You LORD, and I am trusting in Your power to help me survive and thrive today. Amen
