Today’s Scripture: Genesis 32:12, NKJV- “For You said, ‘I will surely treat you well, and make your descendants as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’ ””
When Jacob was fearful, he returned to the promises of God. I am not sure if he was trying to remind God or himself that God brought him to this place. In this moment, he stated in Genesis 32:10 that he was not worthy of God’s mercies, kindness, and faithfulness.
He reminded God that He had instructed him back to this land. He was strategic, thankful, and mindful of how God had blessed him. At this moment in fear, thanksgiving, and faith Jacob prayed to God the Father.
In his prayer, Jacob reminded God of His promise to prosper him and do him well. Left alone, like Jacob, we wrestle with many things. If we continue to fight with the promises of God, we cannot be overpowered. If we hold onto God until he blesses us, we will prevail.
Have you struggled with God and with humans and still overcome by holding onto God and His promises?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, my LORD. Thank You for treating me so well. I am completely grateful for Your promises. Your Word and Your promises to me are my strength in times of fear. I am reminded that You have brought me here to this place with promises to do well for me and prosper me and my family. I am holding tight LORD to You and Your promises. Thank You LORD for treating me so well and I am trusting You to continue to draw me to Your plans. Amen
