Today’s Scripture: Genesis 19:16, NIV- “When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led them safely out of the city, for the LORD was merciful to them.”
I am very thankful that the LORD has been merciful to me even when I have hesitated to act on His direction. Sometimes we need to be led by the hand, don’t we? These angels of the LORD did just that.
LORD, I pray to act without needing a hand, but I am so thankful for your mercy and kindness in providing a hand when we need one. Of course, we can not be disobedient. In the very next verse, the angels instruct them to flee and not look back. Lot still had the nerve to negotiate, and the angels put up with him to grant the next town to him.
Most of us know that Lot’s wife looked back against their instructions and there was not a second chance. We must strive to keep the way of the LORD by being just and right before Him.
Are you thankful the LORD has taken you by the hand when you have hesitated to follow him?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God Almighty, thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for Your hand and the hands of Your servants who have led me when I have hesitated to follow Your way. Thank You LORD for Your guidance and protection. Help me to believe in Your ways and Your warnings. Help me to be obedient and faithful to You. Please grant protection to me and my family and keep us in Your way. Amen
