Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 30:2, NKJV- “Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt!”
Where do you turn for advice, strength and safety? Like these people mentioned in Isaiah 30, too often today’s societies turn to the government for strength and help. It was not a good plan then or now.
Isaiah 30:7 tells us that putting our hopes in the empty promises of government serves no purpose. The experience written down from these people was to be a witness and a warning until the end of time. Those people just asked to be told nice things and lies. They turned away from God and to government.
Governments collapse but trusting God will always be our strength. Thankfully the LORD longs to be gracious to us and He shows us compassion. When we cry out to God for help, He hears us and He will answer us.
God’s Word and His Spirit still speak to us and tell us “This is the way; walk in it.” When we walk in God’s way we come to know His strength.
Where will you turn for advice and strength today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, Holy One of Israel, I am coming to You for direction and strength. I trust You LORD over all others. Thank You for hearing our cries. Thank You for Your grace and compassion. Help us to hear Your Holy Spirit in giving us direction in Your ways. Embolden us to walk with You. You are my strength LORD and in no other will I seek. Thank You LORD for your protection and strength. Amen
