Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 9:19, NKJV-“For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more;”
Today’s materialistic world makes all servanthood and slavery a negative concept. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 9:19 makes it clear that he chose to be a slave. Although he was a free man, with no master, he chose to be a slave to everyone in hopes that they would find Jesus Christ in his service.
We can look around at our world and see when public servants forget to serve they lose their message. The ego of mankind robs us of living on purpose. When we focus on being served versus serving we lose our mission.
This world is simply a better place when we choose to serve others with the gifts and message that we have. Paul says he was compelled by God to do what he did regardless of whether he got paid or not.
What compels you? Will you serve others today and trust God for the rewards He will surely give to you?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You Lord God for Your amazing Word. Your message, the messages of Your servants, change lives. Because of Paul’s servanthood and slavery we still become more aware of the Gospel of Jesus Christ today. Father God, thank You for compelling me to give and serve with the message You have given me. I am praying that the Good News we share will continue to win more people for Christ. Use us Lord, remove our egos, and help us be servants and slaves to more people so they may know You. Amen
