Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2:3-4, NLT-“I came to you in weakness- timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. I did not use wise and persuasive speeches, but the Holy Spirit was powerful among you.”
Why do we attempt to hide our weaknesses? We do more good by being honest in our feelings of ineptitude and fear. In and of ourselves we cannot be holy. In our weaknesses the power of the Holy Spirit is revealed.
I fear failure in my flesh. I cannot live up to the demands of man or the law. Even Paul, who wrote nearly thirty percent of the New Testament, admits his weaknesses. He also admits the Holy Spirit was powerful through him. As long as his message was about Christ and not himself he found this power.
Looking past human wisdom we find faith in God’s power. I am declaring God’s wisdom and power today which is a mystery to human understanding. Although I don’t understand, I can speak and act out of love of God and His message provided by the Holy Spirit.
Will you be confident and trust in the Holy Spirit’s power today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for speaking through us with Your Spirit. Thank You for the grace and peace given to us through Jesus Christ. Thank You for giving us every spiritual gift we will ever need. In Jesus and Your Spirit we find power. Jesus alone makes us acceptable and we should boast only about Him and what He has done. Plant Your seeds through us today and may we work for Your purpose. Amen
