Today’s Scripture: James 5:7 ESV- “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.”
Patience isn’t easy or optional. Just as the farmer must wait for the precious fruit of the earth we also must be patient for the precious fruit of the Lord. The farmer must also do the work of planting.
We can trust the coming of the Lord and His presence in all things. We can keep planting good seeds and trust God for His fruits, compassions and mercies.
We are called to live in prayer, praise and purpose. Prayers produce precious fruits as well and many times they are working similarly to a seed underground. We cannot see them but we can wait patiently in faith. What is happening in us and others as we wait for the fruit and pray together? The power of the unseen Spirit is at work in us and through us.
Can you think of some things you have experienced while waiting and praying in the Lord? What seeds are you planting today.
Today’s Prayer: Father God I do praise You and pray to You for patience. Strengthen my heart Lord and grant me perseverance to keep planting as I await Your fruits. I confess my sins to You and others and pray also for them. In these prayers I know You have great power and I pray with all of my might to You. I thank You for Your Spirit and for the precious fruits You will provide in Your perfect timing. Today dear Lord I am planting and waiting. Amen
