Today’s Scripture: 2 Chronicles 26:5, KJB- “And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.”
Over and over in 2 Chronicles and today, there are those who seek the LORD and find prosperity only to turn away to destruction. The kings of old would rise and fall based on their decisions of who and what to seek.
2 chronicles 26:5 is about Uzziah who was only sixteen years old when he took over as King. He took over at such a young age because His father Amaziah, who started out doing what was right in the eyes of the LORD, turned away. Although young, Uzziah stayed close to those who had an understanding of God here at the beginning of his reign.
As long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper. This is the same with us today. God’s prosperity is so much richer than worldly success. The prosperity found in the light of God shimmers the heart and lights up the world.
Who are you seeking after today?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, I am seeking You now. Draw my heart, mind, soul, and strength to You. Please provide those advisers who have understanding of Your visions that will continue to teach us how to fear You. Help me LORD to seek You all the rest of my days and to not get lost in prosperity, pride, or my own understanding. Draw me near LORD, make me Yours. Amen
