I am joyful and glad when I consider all the good things You have done O LORD.

Today’s Scripture: 1 Kings 8:66, NIV- “On the following day he sent the people away. They blessed the king and then went home, joyful and glad in heart for all the good things the LORD had done for his servant David and his people Israel.”

When we consider all the good things the LORD has done we find joy and gladness. When we look at what we don’t have or what is going on in the world we rarely find joy and gladness. When we consider what God has done instead of what others have not done we find joy and peace.

We can begin with our first breath in considering the magnificence of our heart beating.  We can look at the sunrise of the day, the majesty of creation and His creatures. There we find joy and gladness that is new every day.

I pray today that I turn towards You God and away from my tendency to consider what I do not have. I have You LORD and You are the Lord God and there is no other. Thank You for the joy and gladness I find in You every day.

Where will you look for joy and gladness today?

Today’s Prayer: Father God, You are the Lord my God and there is no other. Thank You for Your Word that reminds of what You have done for all of us over all of the years. Help us Lord God to turn to You and to keep our hearts loyal to You. I am offering You this sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving now. I am looking to Your wonders today and I am reminded of all that You have done for all of us. Amen
