Today’s Scripture: Psalm 46:10 ESV: “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!”
Can we still our minds, our bodies and our tongues long enough to know God? In the stillness we come to know Him.
We can hear Him over the booming sounds of this world and our own minds. If we know He is God we can approach His throne with the utmost stillness.
Do we come to Him thinking we can bring something new to the table? Do we have the right words, the right list of things to ask? We have nothing new.
We only have to know that He is God and to be still. In the stillness is where we come to know Him more and more. In the stillness we come to recognize His voice, His direction, His will and His peace. The LORD Almighty is with us; are we with Him?
Will you be still before God today? Selah.
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for revealing Yourself in the stillness. Please forgive me when I care more to bring You my requests than to know You and Your desires. Thank You for Your messages to us that can be heard over the roaring sounds of the flesh and earth. I know You are God and I am still before You. I exalt you over all others. Amen
