Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 23:1 ESV: When you sit down to eat with a ruler, observe carefully what is before you,
When you observe carefully do you see the desires of God or are you blinded by your own desires or those of others? This 23rd Proverb has many warnings for us as to where we direct our heart and eyes.
As I read these verses I must confess that I have not been very discerning. I have not headed these warnings. Chasing money, wine and other lusts I have allowed my heart and my eyes to be misdirected.
I am even more thankful for God’s Word and grace today than ever before. Time after time I have been misguided but in God’s Word and love He remains true. When we give Him our hearts and observe His ways as instructed in Proverbs 23:26 we find hope and promise.
Each time I have given God my heart and observed His ways I have found an abundant love filled with promise.

Today’s Prayer: Our Father who art in Heaven hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Thank You for giving us our daily bread. Forgive me for toiling for the wrong desires. Help me to toil for Your desires. Lead me not into temptation and deliver me from evil. For You are the kingdom I desire to live for and I trust in Your power, Your glory and Your honor. Thank You for speaking to those willing to observe carefully. Please help me to direct my heart and eyes towards Your ways. Amen
