Today’s Scripture: John 4:10 ESV: Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”
How often, although we know the “gift of God”, we fail to ask Jesus for living water? We become so focused on the flesh, our thirsts for survival that we turn away from God and Jesus.
I am no different than the Samaritan woman at the well. Even though I have experienced the gift of God I still fail to ask Jesus for His living water at times.
I want to live on the living water, do you? LORD, thank You for Your gifts to us. I am asking You to live on and in Your living water.
As I hallowed Your name this morning You reminded me of the harsh experiences of Your great servants of old; Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and Moses. Their lives were not easy and I do not expect easy. I expect to live and do Your will on Your living water and share this water with others.
Will you ask Jesus for His living water today?
Today’s Prayer: Jesus, please give me Your living water. I need and desire Your living water. LORD, may Your Spirit teach me to live there. LORD, draw my thirsts and my life to You. I confess I turn away and LORD I need You and Your living water always. Amen
