Today’s Scripture: Malachi 2:5 ESV: My covenant with him was one of life and peace, and I gave them to him. It was a covenant of fear, and he feared me. He stood in awe of my name.
God made this covenant with Levi. It has been passed on to us so we too can know the life and peace of God. Do you know it?
I have found life and peace in fearing God. I have also come to know awe. After another amazing experience with the LORD, I questioned when I would no longer be amazed. I found that I am there.
I am no longer amazed at God; I now stand in awe of Him. I know He has kept His covenant with me and shown Himself so many times that I am no longer amazed.
Our awesome God has given us His Spirit to guard our hearts. When we are faithful to fear God in our spirit we find awe. The fear I am speaking of is a loving reverence with awe, and great respect. It is here we find life, peace and awe.
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, I stand in awe of You. Thank You for Your covenant and Your love. Forgive me LORD when I turn from the way You have given me. You are faithful and I ask You and Your Spirit to help me to remain faithful to fear only You and to stand in awe. In You I find life and peace. Amen
