Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 21:21, NLT – “Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.
Unexpected results are found when we pursue God. Have you ever known anyone afraid to pursue God because of what they will have to give up? Have you been there? I have. Can those of us who have found life in God’s unfailing love share what we have found?
I find comfort in Proverbs 21:21 that it is the pursuit and the following of righteousness and love that gives us life, righteousness, and honor. It is not that we have already arrived. Day after day, wherever and whoever we are now, we can pursue to know God and His righteousness.
Seeking God and His wisdom grants us His power to overcome life’s challenges. When we work for the LORD, our success is guaranteed to provide generosity. When we prepare our hearts and lives with the LORD, we can rest in the knowledge of Proverbs 21:31 that victory, safety, and deliverance belong to the LORD.
A life filled with following and pursuing the righteousness and love of God is much deeper, safer, and richer than the shallow promises of this world. When we pursue what is right in the eyes of God, we find His unfailing love.
Will you pursue God’s righteousness and love today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank you for guiding our hearts. Please turn our hearts, minds, and souls toward Your righteousness and love today. Strengthen us to pursue You diligently. Thank You for Your instructions for life. Thank You for revealing Your righteousness to us. Help us to live and work to share the life we receive in the pursuit of You. In You alone, LORD, we find victory. In the victorious name of Jesus Christ, we do pray. Amen.
